  • probation violation in Ga Georgia

My husband was sentenced to probation for 6 months to pay a fine for a simple assault charge. He completed all the terms of probation except he didn't pay all the fine and a warrant for violation was issued. It has been over a year. Is there a limitation on the warrant? What is he facing? Can he just pay the remainder of the fine?

When he asked his probation officer this question what did he say?
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

He needs to turn himself in & pay the fine. What he might be facing, he will have to ask his probation officer.

No, a warrant is active until you take care of the reasons it was issued for.

Yep, the warrant will not expire - he needs to turn himself in & get the warrant taken care of.
