  • How to become a Certified Court Interpreter for Spanish?

Spanish interpreters must be certified by the Administrative Office of U.S. Courts. The federal court interpreter certification examination is a two-step process that includes a written test and oral examination interview.

For information, please visit the Federal Court Interpreter Certification Program's website. You may register for the federal court interpreter certification examination on line. You may also call 916-263-3494 to request an information packet. You may contact them through e-mail at [email protected].

Do you have a scheduled trial in which you will need an interpreter?

If you need the services of an interpreter, please send an email message to the Interpreter Supervisor with the following information, not later than 48 hours before the scheduled trial:

    Case Number
    Date of trial
    Language to be interpreted
If includes specialized or technical vocabulary, please specify the field or industry.
    Number of witnesses
