  • PLEASE HELP!! Husband's partnership debt, Will if affect me? North Carolina

My husband has a 50-50 partnership with a friend. My husband got 2 business credit cards through a bank. The credit card accounts has the business name and his name. He has had to default on these cards due to lack of business. The bank has now "charged off" the accounts. Since I am married to this partner in the business can this affect me? If legal action is sought, even though I have nothing to do with the business, can they take my possessions to cover my husband's debt?

If the credit cards are in the busi. name/your husband's name only, you would not be responsible for these debts. Creditors cannot take any assets/income of yours.
