  • Recording telephone conversation. Michigan

I am currently handling financial obligations as Durable Power of Attorney and have been notified of an outstanding debt by a collection agency. I am uncomfortable with their policy of recording conversations. Am I in any way in default if I contact the collection agency and refuse to discuss the issue while being recorded?

Sure. Send them letters via certified mail. Do not talk to them on the phone.

Agree, it's probably best you didn't talk to them on the phone. Handle
everything in writing through the mail.
