  • New bankruptcy law homestead exemption in Texas

I have a house that I have had for 15years. I am in massive credit card debit due to my business not going as smooth as planed and also behind on car payments about 4 months. I have a daughter that is still in school and would really like to keep the house. under the new law would I still be able to file chapter 7 and keep the house? what would be the advantage to chapter 13? also are there any other "chapters" im not aware of? any advise would be a GREAT help in this not so great time.

The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
