I have worked with a company for about 2 Years under a contract.
They changed contracts and I now after 2 year work for a new company. While, I worked with the 1st company I accrued 60hrs of vacation time. I was told that we would recieve it with our last check. Well, I now been informed that the new and old company have been in disagreement on who is responsible for the vacation hours. The old company says that they the new company should pay because it their responsiblity now. But the new company says that it was NOT inserted into their contract. Do I have any rights in this matter and how should I handle this. As you can see am getting no assistance with my employer. ![]() Last edited by brettbrett; 05-04-2006 at 09:16 AM. |

Alabama law does not require that you be paid unused vacation time at all. If it is promised to you under contract then you will have to show the contract to a local attorney to see if it addresses this issue. If it does not, then it's between the two companies; the law does not specify anything addressing this issue.
