Default Husband not getting paid

My husband is a mortgage broker. He began working for his company in the twincities IN MINNESOTA not quite a year ago. Things were fine for a while and then we were getting transferred to a different state for my work. At that time he was promised that his company would open an office where we work and he would become the branch manager. At the time of our move he would receive a bonus. As a branch manager he would be put on a salary plus bonus based on the branch productivity. At the time of our move he was on an hourly + commission pay.

Once we moved, he wasn't receiving a paycheck. He would fight with them for a long time and then get a check. small check without a pay stub. After a couple months of being lied to, he was finally told that they wouldn't be opening the branch but he could continue to work from home. He was working from home and has continued to do loans since we've been here. At first he was reporting his time, but then was told that he would be put on straight commission because his time couldn't be accurately monitored. Then they stopped sending him leads for generation of business. He has been back to the twincities twice to meet with them and try and resolve his pay situation.

He is owed approximately 3000.00 from them adn I guess I'm wondering what we can legally do?

The owners did not put anythign in writing for him so the only pay structure he has in writing is the original hourly +commission. But he has not reported his time since February because at that point he was told his commission would increase and there would be no hourly pay. He has yet to receive a paycheck related to commission since then.

He has continued to close loans for this company up until today.

Also, when we moved, they set my husband up with a laptop PC and a printer/fax/copier. He has since been told that since he didn't get paid his 2500 bonus, he could keep that equipment. Again, none of this has been in writing.

He is planning on quitting this job soon and we'd like to understand our rights in this scenario prior to his conversation on quitting in order to have the discussion of our plans for legal ramifications in order to get paid what he is due.

Any help would be welcomed. Thanks!
