Default fired due to disability

I was recently fired from my job as a plumber. I live in Ga. but was working in Al. I was instructed to move by hand 4 cast iron roof drains across a 8 story roof, over and under saftey wires & pull them up to the roof of the penthouse with a rope. I refused until I received help. I was fired & told I thought I was to good to work. I informed my supervisor of previous back injuries in which I've had 2 back surgeries at the time of my hire. I was told I would be provided with help with heavy items. I am disabled due to these surgeries. Do I have any recourse? There were approximately 25 - 30 other employees on the jobsite working for the same company.
Thanks for any help,
Rick

Was your supervisor aware of these back problems prior to firing you?

If you believe that you were fired because of your disability you can file a complaint with the EEOC.
