Default black balled

i am pretty sure i am being black balled by my previous supervisor. i applied for a job, and they called me in for a meeting and they told me some things that my previous supervisor had told them which were not true. can i do anything about this? this is in charlotte nc.

What did the supervisor say that was untrue?
(and more importantly)
WHY would your supervisor "blackball" you?

It sounds like you have a very stupid former employer. Even if you are fired for cause, most employers will say nothing.

When I was laid off from a job a few years ago, I had a company called referencecheck.com do a confidential check of my employment history. One of about 20 previous managers said something that was inaccurate and what I considered malicious. I sent a copy of the report to the CEO (large company) and to the their HR VP. The manager who made the comments had his contract cancelled (the equivalant of a termination). If your former supervisor said something that you feel is inaccurate, it behoves you to at least bring it to the attention of the CEO of the company.
