Default period of notice

Hi
My wife has just handed her notice in at her job and was asked to leave there and then as she is going to a competitor.
she hasnt claimed all her holiday and is wondering if she is entiteld to that and also if she is entitled to the pay for her period of notice (2 weeks)?

PA law only requires the payout of vacation time if company policy is to do so, and no law in any state requires an employer to pay out unworked notice time, even if the notice time is unworked at the behest of the employer.

I thought you were from the UK because of your use of "holiday".

You're right; employment law in the UK and the US is very different. But there are states where she would be entitled to her vacation pay; it's just that PA isn't one of them. Employment law here varies a lot from state to state, too.
