Tomorrow I'm going in for a job interview with Nortel Networks here in
Richardson, Texas, for a job that would take place in Beijing, China. If I get this job and therefore relocate to Beijing, does anyone know how my wife and I would go about adopting an infant there? Currently we are the parents of three children, all adopted. We got them through LDS Family Services, and I've discovered that LDSFS has no presence in China, so we would need to find a new agency. Does anyone know of any agencies in China that they could recommend? It would be nice if we could get some idea of the waiting time between applying with an agency and getting an infant, any requirements of adoption by the Chinese government, how much it would cost to adopt an infant, how long we'd have to live in Beijing before we could apply, things like that. Any information anyone can give me on this would be greatly ap- preciated. ---Kevin Simonson "Maybe it started as a dream, but doesn't everything?" from _James and the Giant Peach_ |

Try this website, www.fwcc.org It is information central for anyone
adopting from China. Someone there probably knows the ins and outs of an American couple adopting from China while in China. You will have to have an agency, and the process takes from a year to a year and a half. Best of Luck Linda Happy mother of a daughter from China |
