Adoption can take a long time. It keeps the jobs within the system, you
know.

Sometimes foster adoptions can take a while, although for children where
parental rights have already been terminated, it can be very quick. BTW,
Fern, the reason a lot of foster adoptions take so long often has to with
continue attempts to get kids back with birth families (a reasonable goal,
yes?)-- not to keep jobs. Hint -- get a clue.

Fern, geez, read the post. The comments were made by *Bruce Willis*. He
specifically stated that he was asked to be a spokesperson for a foster
child advocacy group.

That said, becoming a CASA or child mentor is a great way to get involved.

Mentors are sometimes paid to be friends and surrogate parents, often to

Folks with Big Brothers and Big Sisters do it for free. It's a great
program and I recommend it highly.
