I purchased materials for a job after trying to reach managers at work over the holidays,, now I am getting a run around about getting my money back ,, is there a law about such practices? !

No, there is no law in Arizona requiring an employer reimburse an employee for business-related expenses. If the amount was large enough, you may be able to take it as an itemized deduction on your 1040, as an unreimbursed business expense.
