Yeah, it always is, IYO, when it isn't how victim you would do it. There isnothing that says the aparent (s) was not asked to be there.
One of the little girls in my daughter's ballet class is adopted (well, actually
three of them are). In talking with the amother of one in particular, both she
and her husband were in the hospital room when the girl was born - at the bmom's
request.
