Damn fine question... I was thinking of starting a thread posing thatquestion.I don't know what the legal answer is.. Well I do know that in somestates she can relinquish without the parents consent..But on terms of ethics in relation with the counselor.. I do notknow..I personally think giving a baby up for adoption is a very importantdecision in the girls life and she does need the parentsinput/guidence/help.What we are discussing here IMO is not as important.. The girl met thesiblings (sibling?) with the aparents approval.. The amom was at thebirth.. This is a semi open adoption.. The rules are not set inadoption's such as this so we/ (the collective we) end up in troublein some situations. That is what is wrong with OA IMO.Hurt feelings of being left out of the loop.. (<amom)JackiePerhaps it's not hurt feelings. Perhaps it's fear about the emotional healthof her daughter.
Then why in hell is she suing the school or the counselor or the
agency that provides the counselor to the school..

Why is she allowing this to go this far.. Here we are discussing these
folks on the internet..

In the article, either mom is lying or telling the truth. There is a 50/50 chance.
The birth mom has backed right off.. The birth mom has not contacted
the girl since..

I'm not willing to assume either is the case withoutinfo from the child. But, you seem all too willing to assume mom is lying.
I said the girl may have said things to the amom because she was
afraid to tell her the truth..

Show me where I said the amom was lying..

Why would *you* expect a response to that?
Especially when you yourself don't scruple to make false allegations
(which you never substantiate, despite requests).
