Default Company Retaliation?

I am a field technician for a telecommunications company here in NJ. In August 05 I filed a non anonymous complaint with the NJ DOL claiming my employer was wrongfully charging us for materials needed to perform our jobs. The department investigated and ordered them to cease this policy immediately. Since then my employer has made my life a living hell. They have significantly cut my workload and being a piecework employee its cut my income significantly. They have also changed my route for the worse. I have a good relationship with one of the office employees and they secretly told me that I was being targeted by the regional manager. They haven't terminated me because they are hoping I quit so I will not be eligible for unemployment benefits. It's obvious they are retaliating but isn't there a law protecting whistleblowers against such actions?

Yes.

In New Jersey, we have a very strong whistleblower law (CEPA).

Further, the NJ wage and hour law, has an anti-discrimation provision which makes it illegal for an employer to take adverse employment action for filing a complaint with the NJDOL.

Regards.
