Default Wife's job keeps changing the schedule

My wife works for a retail establishment at the local mall, and as of this week they have changed the schedule 2 times. The second change happened today, Thursday December 23. They told her today that she would have to work Christmas Eve, which she was allowed off previously. I was wondering if there were any laws in NC about schedules and if they can change w/o notice.

Also, her check (which should be there every other Friday) will sometimes not arrive until the next week. Is there anything about that?

No state requires prior notification of schedule changes.

Why do they say checks will be late?
