Default Did not ask what medication taken before Drug Test

Can you tell me if the Medical facility did not ask me what medication I was taking before I gave a sample of urine for a drug test, will the results be compromised meaning false positive?

No one here can tell you whether your drug test will come back with a false positive or not. The LLT crystal ball is being recalibrated.

Angry Rude?

I currently found this website and find it to be vert informative. BUT, if the rude remarks like this one is going to be the response when people ask quesions then why have this option. It was a simple question, it didnt need the rudeness that you supplied the person with.

I know you dont care but that is my 2 cents!!!!!!

Thanks for your time!

You're very welcome.

It is astonishing how many people assume that there is only one possible result to a situation and that we will be able to tell them in advance exactly what will happen. We can't.

The response was not intended as rudeness. Certainly not as rude as your message.

Waxon,

I am a client relations specialist for drug testing company and I can answer your question....

No.

When our clients send their employees to take a drug test it is not typical practice for the collector to ask what prescription drugs they are on because once the result is reported out, an MRO (medical review officer) will need to get in contact with the donor to obtain a valid prescription. If there is no valid prescription, it is ruled out as a positive. Not all companies have their drug test results reviewed by an MRO so if you indeed do have a prescription and you were fired...you have a case.

A case for what?

Tiny, I'm sorry but you're mistaken.

A wrongful termination means that there is a specific law which prohibits the employer from firing you for the reason they did. It does not mean, despite what so many people believe, that you were fired for something you did not do.

If an employee is fired for a false positive, whether it's because of an error in the test or because the employee was not asked about prescription medication, that would indeed be unfair but it does not, in many states including North Carolina, violate the law. Since no law would be violated, it would not, by definition, be a wrongful termination. It's not wrongful just because it's unfair.

Normally I wouldn't respond since it's an old post but I don't want it sitting out there that employees would have a case for wrongful termination in situations where they would not.
