Default Changes in Commission Plan

I am a commissioned sales person in Colorado. My compensation agreement indicates I will receive a % of the recurring revenue we collect for the new clients I sign up. I get paid monthly after the employer receives payment from the client. Typical contracts are 12 months and automatically renew unless cancelled by the client.

New management has told us they are going to change this and will only pay commissions for the length of the initial contract term and not for renewals.

My questions are:

1). Is my employer obligated to pay me commissions for existing clients under the current agreement understanding they will pay me based on the new plan for future clients? There was no agreement they could change the plan.

2.) If my employment ends is my employer obligated to pay me ongoing commissions so long as the clients I signed up remain with the firm regardless if it is perpetual (old plan) or for a remainder of a contract term (new plan)?
