Default Need your help! What are my rights for Iowa.

I am married and have a child and one on the way. My husband hates the fact that I am pregnant. He wants me to abort my baby. Not tell anyone about what has happened. I told him that I would think about it and left it at that.

He then told me that he no longer loves me after being together for 13 years. That he has other women interest in him.

A weekago he brought another women to my home and left my daughter at a event down town. This is a 10 year old child. Brought another women to my home and showed her my sports cars.

Then told me about it when I called home since he ran into our neighbor. I was upset but tried not to let it get to me.

When I came home asked him to set down and see what he all would like if we got a divorce. Things lead to a yelling match. I falled him upstairs of my home and asked him to come back down stairs so that we could talk. He told me he had no time for me and he was leaving. I got upset when he took my keys to my car and I asked him several times to give them to me.

He grabed me around the throat and threw me up against my car. Some how I came too and wound up hitting him on his back and then he but me in a head lock and slammed me into another car in our garage. I pinned him in the back of the garage and asked him for my keys again. He called the COPS and they came and arrested both of us. My daughter saw him throw me up against my one car outside.

He told the cops that I was going to hurt him again and that was why he called them. I was just afraid that he was going to hit me in the stomach and me loose the baby.

He says he is going to take me to the cleaners and I am going to loose everything.

Need advice if possible.
Thanks for your time.

Go to the police and fight back. Violence against pregnant women is rampant and I hate to see so many women afraid to fight for their lives literally. He committed domestic battery and battery against your fetus, and also has made threats and it is known that he wants the fetus aborted and if you think that he was trying to cause an abortion, ask them to charge him with something along those lines of trying to harm the unborn baby. Tell them you had to act in self defense to save your life and the baby and that he was throwing you against the vehicle when you acted.
It would be a good idea to go get a restraining order against him and to file for divorce asap before he goes to do this and tries to take you to the cleaners. Be proactive and get on this asap and on your own if you ahve to.
