Default Workmen's comp problem!

I work for a utility company in the tri-county area!I recently fell and hurt my back causing temp paraylsis in my left leg on the job!I went to my own doctor because the people who I work for didn't want me to go their company doctor! It turns out my doctor found a herniated disc(THRU MRI)from the fall and I need 1 to 3 weeks to recover!I told this to my boss-who then talked to his boss and we all decided to discuss my recovery! To my shock my boss's boss told they were going to reject my workmen's comp claim, but also write me up for safety issues!I am now on probation for 6 months and also if I have another accident I will be terminated!I have worked for this place for almost 11 years,I know everybody in the organization-including my boss's boss!We have had issues(boss's boss) and I think he is abusing his power for personal spite! This action by my employer is definately wrong! What alternatives do I have in this case!Go get a lawyer or file a claim with the labor board?

Your employer does not have the option to refuse to file a WC claim with their worker's compensation insurance carrier. (It's up to the WC carrier to determine whether the employer liable for the injury, not the employer.)

You may file a complaint with your State's WC Division. You may also wish to consult with a WC attorney.
