Does anyone know how long it should take for unemployement to make a ruling as to the status of your claim. I filed on Oct.17,2005 and still have not recieved anything. As of Oct.17,2005 the place that i worked was sold and all the people working there were fired and the new company that took over did not offer the same as prior owner I choose not to stay. I have filed my bi-weekly twice now and have also called unemployement and all they say is that the examiner has not made a ruling. Is there a certain amount of time they have to do this.

No, there is no specified time they have to make a decision.
I don't know about PA, but in my state four weeks is the average length of time for a perfectly straightforward claim that is not being contested to be decided. I know it seems like forever but it's really not outside normal parameters. |
