Ok, my English teacher assigned an essay to be written as if it were a college application essay. The prompt was to tell about an event or person that has significantly impacted your life. She never said that it had to be in first person as if I were telling it about me so I put it in first person, but wrote it as if another person were telling the story from his point of view.
The essay was about an event that happened to me. My youth pastor told me something that he went through when he was a teenager. His story impacted me and that's what I wrote about. Now, I wrote it like a short story, but at the end where I wrote the concusion, I wrote how I had changed, not J (my youth pastor).
Evidently, that upset her very much because when I walked into class today, she called me out into the hall to discuss it. The first words out of her mouth were, "You did not write this paper." I told her that I did, just not as though it were coming from my point of view. Every essay I had done like that has revieved perfect 4's. Encluding on TAKS tests, so I didn't know why she was so upset. Anyway, she insisted that I didn't write my paper (when I have at least two people to verify that I did), and she called me a liar. Then, she told me that because of the other essays I had written for her were not in the same style, I couldn't possibly have written it. Then, she continued to tell me that I didn't possess the level of skill at which the essay was written. Pretty much saying I was a no-talent liar. She said that it was written as if it were a sophisticated sattire, and I couldn't write it as such. Then, she went on to insist that I either plagerized my essay or actually had a 34 year old man write it (because it was written as if a 34 year old man was saying it. She said that I couldn't have written it because it was too detailed in that manner. Kind of like, I couldn't have written it as detailed because the situation didn't really happen to me). She told me that it really seemed as though a 34 year old male had written the essay instead of me.
She also stated that I needed to re-write my composition or I would receive an "F"- a 0 for a grade. I told her I would rather take the 0 than to re-write it because it was fine as is.
Several times during the discussion (dare I say feud) my teacher raised her voice, which was highly unprofessional. Others have told me that she's being prejudice against me (no, we're both caucasian, but that doesn't mean much.) maybe because she didn't possess the level of writing abilities I have when she was my age. And now that I think about it, she gave me a failing grade on a very well-written essay earlier in the year. My fiancee informed me that I should contact an attorney if neither my principal or my teacher agree to give me the grade I deserve.
When I contact my principal and possibly eventually an attorney, what could I charge? I don't think raising your voice (so loud teachers down the hall can hear clearly what's going on) is very professional, nor acceptable. Also, I do believe she is being prejudice against me, for what reason, I do not know. Also, she's famous for kicking students. If you get her mad or aggitated, she'll kick you in the shin. I've never been kicked, personally, but I don't feel comfortable knowing that if I screw up I might get shin-kicked. And, her telling me that I was a liar, a plagarizer, saying that I didn't have the skill to write an essay that I clearly did, didn't make me any more happy. It's all very aggrivating and any help I can get I would appreciate. Thank you.

Student/teacher relationships are not employment relationships. We can only speak to employment issues here.

However, I would venture a guess that if you plan on suing everyone that you think has "wronged" you, you're gonna spend a lot more money on attorneys than you will get in settlements.

Just talk to the principal, OK?
