Default labor law poster- Nj

I own 6 buildings in NJ. We have 2 Offices that some of the employees go to. Some employees do not go to any office. Do I need to hang up a poster in each building even if I do not have an office?

I THINK what you are asking is whether you have to post notices in all six buildings, or only the two where your employees go.

If I am correct about your question, the answer is, only the two where your employees go.

If I am mistaken about what you are asking, please clarify.

No my employees go to all six but there is only offices in 2. the other 4 have apartments which they work on

You're probably okay having them just in the two. Check with the state DOL to be certain.

Default Posting Requirement

As far as New Jersey Labor Law posters go, they are to be posted in the place where employees regularly recieve their paychecks.

Could I prevail upon you to take a look at a couple of NJ-based disability questions on some of the other forums? I'm not terribly familiar with the state-mandated disability in your state.

I don't know about that, could be.

I haven't really had opportunity to look at this issue, but generally know that labor/employment posters (fed/state) are generally posted in/at either the time clock area or the employee break room. While some factories still distribute pay checks at the time clock, that's gotten pretty rare.

Instead, I think (and this is an assumption, and you know what they say about assume, it make an a** out of u and me) that posters must be displayed in a conspicuous place designed so that all employees will be apriased of their rights. That is, I think its something employers do to protect themselves. If they don't, and the issue arises, an employee can state the employer failed and thus use it against the employer. As such, if you only have posters in two places, but employees work in 6 places, this might be okay of all employees have regular opportunity to cross paths with the posters in the two places. If not, you should do more in order to protect yourself so you can say with credibility that all employees had reasonable opportunity to see the posters (after all, you can't force them to read the dang things).

But, I guess, a better question is that at only $10 or $20 per poster, why not place them in every building? Obviously not in public, but each building no doubt has a employee only area. At that cost, just put them up for piece of mind.
