Default Hired from out of state

Colorado is the state I have moved to. I was employed in another state as a salaried employee. I sent a resume to a company in Colorado via one of the web job posting sites. I received a phone interview and then flew out for an interview. Ultimately I got the position. Now that I have put my house up for sale in the other state and moved myself here. My family is there waiting for the house to sell. I was put on a "hot project" right away. When I asked how often I could see my family they said I'd need to wait until after the project was complete which was scheduled for mid October. The end of the project is now expected for Mid November. I haven't seen my family since July 18 of this year. Is that legal? Secondly I have found out through someone that left the company that there was a plan to hire some people to work on a project and when the project is over lay them off. All of the other people are local. I'm the only one from out of state. Is this legal? Do I have any rights in this situation?

I don't particularly care for your employer's management style but nothing you have described is illegal.
