Default Denied my lunch break in Colorado

Ok I'm not sure if I have anything against my job or not but here goes. I'm 22 years old, and I'm working at PetsMart in Colorado. And anytime that we (cashiers/stockers/anyone) work 6 hours we always get a lunch break. Now on Sept 14th,2005 I was working with a manager that I don't like but she doesn't know that. I was to work 4 to 10, our store closes at 9pm. One of the girls got to work an hour before me at 3pm. So i ask her what time she wants to take her lunch, she said she didn't know and went to ask the manager on duty. Its about 5pm and she said that she will take her lunch now. I said ok, I go to ask when I can take my lunch and I get a reply that I don't get one.!! Ok I've worked there 6-7 mos and anytime u work 6 hours or more u get a lunch break. Even if we don't stay til 10pm we always get a lunch. I was so mad, so I didn't get a chance to eat at all. I worked 4 to about 940pm without a lunch. The manager said that I can take a long 15. Now I have tried calling to get advise to see if there is anythin I can do. No one seems to have an answer, and its against the law to go so many hours and not have a lunch. I felt so sick b/c I haven't eaten since 1130am. I'm living on my own and going to school and it doesn't help that I'm the only black person working at this store. Can anyone help me?? I think they singled me out for what reason I don't know, but its not fair. Ive had a lunch before but this one time doesnt make sense to me. Now I think some of the managers are trying to fire me.

Here is the law. It's actually 5 hours. If duties do not allow the meal break, then it must be paid.

You can contact the state Dept. of Labor and file a claim.
