We are classified as commission route sales, and we have meetings after already working a full day, these are info meetings, The dot considers these meetings as on duty time, my question is should the company be paying us for mandatory meetings sense we are commission route sale drivers and it interfers with are ability to go and add new business? I live in Michigan.
Thanks |

Are you commissioned ONLY, or do you receive a base wage PLUS commissions? In any case, I recommend you contact the state Dept. of Labor to inquire. In most cases, mandatory meetings are compensable time and should be paid. What I am not clear on is at what rate they would be paid, other than minimum wage, if your compensation package is ONLY commissions.

We have a base rate, but if are routes are above the base rate in volume, it is base on commission then!
