Can anybody help me.
If from Iowa and need to find out how to stop support payments. Daughter is 18, not in school, working full time. I went to court house and they said it would be 6 months before they could give me a court date. I cant afford a lawyer and can barely make the bills now. I have a 9 month old son and Fiancee I care for live with(she cant work) and I dont know what to do. Also what happens to the money they are still giving to mother, do I get that back? And how? Thanks |

If they are and the CS order allows for CS after age 18 only if child is still in HS, then all you have to do is take the agency the proof that your daughter isn't in school and they will stop the CS for you. You may or may not be able to get the CS you've paid back, but you would have to take your ex to court to get a Judge to order a refund. xena ![]() |

File a motion to terminate child support. If you have proof and I mean proof that the child is 18 (birth certificate), is not attending school and is working as in place of employment information provided, then the court may have enough to terminate with a hearing, though one may be held anyway. You should be able to file the motion to terminate child support on your own, but may want to get an attorney to do so also.
