Hi,
I am currently employed in NYS and have medical benfits thru my employer. There are over 100 employees and I am p/r administrator. For those employees who opt for a better medical plan a certain amount of deduction is taken from our weekly paycheck. The boss has determined that one of his employees does not have to pay this deduction. Does it have to be uniform throughout the whole company. If one has to pay should all have to pay( except for boss)? Thanks, Lynne : |

While an employer should be uniform in the expression of their policies, if they want to make an exception for one employee for one reason or another they may. Unless they are doing it BECAUSE OF the employee's race, religion, national origin etc., it is legal for them to exempt her.
