Default video cameras...

The 5% owner/100%CEO/100%President of a Virgnina Company just added a pretty new camera in one of the offices. It is not hidden, right up there on the wall. Evidently from what the computer man said it also has a voice microphone, so when the owner/ceo/president of the company watches the 'footage of the office' he can also listen. Now What I am concerned about, is the fact that the owner informed us girls in the office that he can save the whole day on his computer hard drive. Can it be legal to record conversations.

Sure it can. Especially since (1) there is no attempt to hide the fact that the recordings are being made and (2) the camera is not in a place where you have an expectation of privacy.

However, whether it IS or not will depend on the specifics. Consult with a local attorney.

In VA, it is legal for an audio recording to be made as long as one party to the conversation is aware of it.
