i was wondering if someone could let me know if i would be due overtime pay. I drive a 16 ft city truck to rest areas along the interstates in pa , where our company has vending machines at these sites. I make an hourly wage and i have to load my truck with merchandise, go to these sites, collect money count empty springs, go to truck and pick merchandise and put into machines,I make no commission from these machines as i'm paid strickly 8.25 an hour no matter how many hours i put in. I have had a check with 120hrs in 2 weeks time without overtime on it. The company i work for is a non-profit organization that hires people with disabilities. If someone could help me understand this better would appreciate it, as the company is saying that they don't have to pay us overtime, something about interstate commerence

There is an exemption for certain truck drivers. You can read the DOL fact sheet about truck drivers at the following website: http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/whd/whdfs19.htm
Let me know if you have any other questions. |
