Question Overtime in Wis. Fresh Vegetable Trucking

I am questioning overtime pay for mechanics from a local "large" trucking firm. They explain there reasoning for not paying there mechanics o.t is they haul fresh vegtables from farmer's. Does this apply to the mechanics? The company has a fleet of 100 or more semis and trailers. They hire drivers who haul the vegtables to the plants. There office staff receives O.T., but not the technicians. Normal work week for this company mechanics is 50hr. I really wonder how they can do this ,but it has been done for many years so someone must know something. Is it possiable to have Labor Force come in and examine hourly documents?? Owners of company are very well off and sometimes I feel they possiably know the right people to get around this situation.

I don't know of any exemption for mechanics and others who don't drive over the road.

You may wish to talk with the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division on filing a claim for unpaid overtime. http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/
