in new york. is it illegal for a manager to tell there employee they are a F***k up. my boss told me this yesturday 3 times. this is the second time this happened. what can i do. i didn't say anything to him but just stared at him. the first time he told me this i was shocked but i let it go. yes i messed up on something at work but it was caught before any serious damage could happen. i don't know what to do cause i was never in a situation like this please help.

Profane language, without being a derogatory comment against a protected status, such as race, is not illegal UNLESS the reason for the language is due to reasons such as discrimination. If a manager only uses profane language to, let's say, women, then it may be seen as discrimination. However, if the manager uses profane language to all employees without regard to a protected status, it is legal (though it is definitely not good management).
