Default vacation pay rules

Is there a law regarding how vacation time must be used? I am an exempt employee who is required to work a minimum 40 hour work week. Vacation time must be taken in minimum 4 hour increments. If I work 38 hours in 4 days, am I required to claim 8 hours of vacation on the 5th day, for a total of 46 hours claimed for the week, and I basically lose 6 of my vacation hours. Or can I claim 4 hours, which will put me at 42 hours which is closest to the minimum 40 hours, and I only lose 2 hours?

I am confident that Arizona has no laws regarding the use of vacation time.
