Default Overtime

Non-exempt employees in most professions should receive overtime. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule for certain employers. What kind of company do you work for and what is your job?

Default Bi-weekly Overtime rollover?

I am a service plumber paid hourly. I get paid on a bi-weekly basis. I worked 35 hours the first week of a period and 48.75 hours the next. I got paid for 3.75 hours OT. Based on what my boss's accountant told him the straight time for the pay period adds up before going to OT. Sounds to me like he's saying I get paid OT based on anything over 80 hours in a two week period.... Is there any truth to this or should I have been paid based on 8.75 hours OT?

It would have been better if you'd started your own thread instead of tacking your question on to one that was 2 1/2 years old, but no, that is not correct. Each workweek stands alone. You do need to ask what the company has defined as the "workweek", however.
