I remember when I first heard this on the radio -- driving the Los
Angeles Office of INS. I hate to admit this -- my first thought was "Is
there an INS office in OKC?" But part of that question was based upon
the selfish fact that I happen to spend a lot of time in Federal
Buildings. Security doesn't bother me all that much.
Had a removal hearing last Friday where the Homeland Security Trial
Attorney did everything in her power to compromise the security of the
courtroom. I was truly frightened -- and that attorney could not
understand why I would be frightened of having several very angry people
sitting BEHIND me and my client. A well thrown cell phone , purse, or
make-up kit can really hurt. Immigration courts don't have armed
bailiffs and during a break I found it necessary to have security come
into the courtroom -- and the Homeland Security attorney tried to have
the security guard leave. Fortunately, the Judge returned at the point
and agreed with me.
When the next hearing was being set at the end of the day, the Homeland
Security Attorney asked for an order to ensure that the people who had
threatened my client and I could be in the courtroom!
Go figure.

the bomb went off. The university is about 1 hr 15 min. drive from
downtown OKC. That morning I was getting ready for class. I felt the
ground move, I actually thought that Oklahoma had an earthquake.
During the time of the tragedy, this state was one big family. I have
never felt so much love in all my life. Its going to be a scare forever
to heal for Oklahoma.
