This question was posted by racerchick44, but I checked out the links provided for the answers by elklaw, but I didn't quite find the answer I was looking for. It only talked about permissable breaks from work during a shift.
So the question restated being, what is the minimal length of time from ending a work shift before an employer can ask an employee to return to work on another shift? My step daughter works part-time in retail at a mall in minnesota and works different shifts, but recently they've ask her to work 6pm to 2:30am (Sunday to Monday) and then come back that same Monday to work the 10am to 4pm shift. |

There was no "answer" because there is no law one way or the other for most types of employment, including retail.
