California
Is there a law that determines what you can answer as an employer when another company calls for an employment verification and reference? I know what you should limited it to, but I want to know if there are laws in California that limit what you can actually say. |

There aren't any laws, per se, dictating what you can say. However, California does say that persons who misrepresents information that prevents reemployment of a person can be held liable.
