Angry Calif. Rent Increase

How many days notice does a landlord need to give a tenant of a rent in increase? How many days does said landlord need to renew leases?

First, you should look at the terms of the lease as most speak to the timeframe that rent increases and notices need to be sent. Usually, on a 30 day month to month lease, one month notice, unless otherwise written. Usually, on a one year lease, 60-90 days notice of rent increase prior to lease expiration/renewal. Also, state law should be consulted as it will usually have terms if they are not written into a lease.
