These boards are for employment law questions. You will need to post your question in the family law section.
But I can tell you that when you are 18, you can live wherever you like. Until then, you are under your mother's control and cannot move out without her permission. Yes, she could get the person you were living with in trouble. |

17 is a gray area.... your parents are responsible for your actions... for example, if you steal a car, drive it into someone home your parents would have to pay for it..... on the other hand at 17 your parents have no more say over how they control your life.... you can move out... not anything they can do about it!

What?
That is silly. There are only a few states that allow a 17 year old to move out, and Texas isn't one of them. If she moves out, she will be returned as a runaway. If she wants to shack up with her "fiancee", she should wait until she is legal.

If this thread were posted today, I would have deleted it. I got fed up with all the kids who think they're grown up enough to live on their own but don't have the brains to interpret, Labor and Employment Law.
