yes, get married and add them to your company issued insurance plan.

If you are unable to add them, then you might want to check out
private issued medical insurance by contacting major issuers such as
BlueCross/Blue Shield, Oxford, etc.

My plan is to get married but it probably won't happen the first day she
gets here. So, that's why I'm asking. I want to have some kind of coverage
for her and her son until we marry. I have looked at some temporary
insurance plans but I'm wondering if there are any lower cost plans.

I use a company called Health Plan Administrators, they are HQ'd in
Illinois. I've been insured with them for about five years. They have a
web site but I can't remember the URL off hand.

They can be reached at:

1-775-599-5876

Good Luck!!

What
state do you reside in?

New York State has a program thru Blue
Cross/Blue Shield for all children and adults who are not covered by
medical insurance. Its called Family Health Plus & Child Health Plus.

My employer covers my medical insurance but not my daughters. Luckily
for me this program is available as my daughter has epilepsy and it
covers all her doctor visits and medication. I don't know what I would
do without it.

The monthly fee is based on your income and how many
people are in your household and for some people who qualify it is free.
Perhaps there is such a program in the state that you reside.

Where

month before getting married here.

There are several companies who provide immigrant insurance. Or if you
are able to, then you can add them to your own insurance. My fiance
can't do that so he's going to get me the immigrant insurance to at
least start me off covered against emergencies. The benefits aren't
great but it's a lot better than getting hit by a bus and a ten
thousand dollar bill for repairs!
