Exclamation what are my sons rights

I live in Oregon. My divorce and child support and custody was done in Colorado. I have a 13 yr old special needs child who also has ongoing medical needs. His dad works out of Salt Lake City, Utah, and stays at his moms. He pays rent (i think he just gives the money to the person) for a woman he was at one point married to, somewhere in Idaho. He spends every weekend or day off there. This person has an ongoing history with child services,She has threatened me several times as to taking my son, and he refuses to even give me a way to be contacted when he goes there (including during my sons month long hospital stay).... Do i have to let him pick up my son, I'm worried that he will take my son to a place where i have no way of making sure he is ok and that i would not even know where to look if they decided to keep my son there.... Is there anything i can do? And does my son and I have any legal rights as to whether or not he goes with his dad? Thank you so much! Lynda

It sounds like you need to go to court and seek a modification of the custody arrangements to limit the father's visitation, change the custody arrangements so that you have sole custody with limited visitation and seek limits on visitation as to your child's location because of the medical needs. I suggest that you seek counsel from an attorney. Custody matters where there is a special needs child is subject to more scrutiny, so it would be best to puruse this with counsel. If you qualify, you can seek assistance from Legal services or Legal Aid.
