I live in Idaho and I've requested a child support modification from Health and Welfare. They will do a modification evaluation once every three years if there is reason for such. My ex-husband has refused to fill out the paperwork or provide any information for the evaluation. What type of information will Health and Welfare be able to obtain without his assistance? Can they obtain his tax returns from the government? Can they contact his work and find out his salary? Is there any way for me to get this information?

The state, if they are representing you, can obtain his tax and employment information by use of a subpoena or court order. If you hire an attorney, the attorney can apply for a subpoena or order to obtain the tax and employment information also.
