Default formal land lineation
What does it mean to have a formal land lineation done on a piece of property? Specifically, a bare lot on lakeshore. Thanks!

from what I have been able to locate, it is exploring the lot line/shore line to see what is underneath; more specifically rocks, shorelines, faults, etc... I think the concern may be erosion and reclamation as that happens over time and the beach may disappear under certain circumstances or periodic natural events
