Default Minor's Signatures (at Doctor's) Indiana

Hi! When I was maybe 13 I had to get a shot at the doctor's. But I was terrified of needles, so when the doctor handed me the paper for me to sign my permission to get the shot, I refused. But, my mom just signed it instead in my place.
I was just wondering if someone can tell me more about this? Why would they ask me to sign if my mom could just do it? Do minor's signatures actually mean anything? Thanks

No, they do not. Until you are 18 your parents make all decisions for you and are legally responsible for you. I'm honestly not sure why the doctor bothered asking you.
