Default Milwaukee Wisconsin walk in wait time?

    Hi,

Anybody recently (in the last 3 or 4 months) went to the INS office in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin? How long did you have to wait before you were able
to speak to an information officer?

I am thinking about walking in there next week. I am wondering when is
a good time to get there and how long I will have to wait, etc. Thanks
    in advance.

    Pu

I don't know if this is any help to you in the absence of anyone going
though that office on this site.

heard anything further about your AOS interview? Do you have a date for
the interview or are you still waiting?

Is there anyone else out there who has recently had an AOS interview at
the Milwaukee, WI district office? Could you please post and tell us
how long you waited from submission of forms to the interview letter to
    the interview date?

I have a friend that is going through that office. She and her UK
husband never received a receipt, but they did cash her check. They are
wondering how long it is going to be before they get an interview date.

We just had our interview on Thursday (2/5/04). After a short wait we
were called and the interviewer showed us to his office. He was not
very personable and somewhat unfriendly. We made an oath to tell the
truth and the interview started. He aske my wife the same questions
which were on the filing applications (about drugs, prostitution,
communist affiliations). Then he asked about our evidence of our
joint life together. We gave him our bank statements, health
insurance cards (with both our names). He asked about a lease with
both our names but the lease is only in my name. I gave him copies of
a whole bunch of pictures of us together and a statement which
indicates my wife as my beneficiary. At first he did not want these
and stated a lease would have been better to show we were recognized
as a couple. I then gave him copies of xmas cards set to both of us,
our wedding announcement, and pushed the pics and beneficiary info
back to him. He looked at everything and accepted.
Now the bad news. For some reason the security check was not complete
so we did not receive the I-551 stamp. He indicated that that the
BCIS waits for clearance from another agency for the checks and he
woudl check tomorrow. He would not give us an indication of whether
or not we satisfied the requirements of the interview or not. He only
told us that we might receive a letter next week or some other time.
He was quite unfriendly. His name was Barczak or something like that.
Anyways we will continue to do what we are all becoming experts at
    doing, wait.
Our notification for fingerprinting came in September 2003. The
notification for the interview arrived in December 2003 and the
interview was February 5, 2004. I think they do interviews only on
    Thursdays.

    thanks
    for sharing with with us,
i hope and i wish you to receive your stamp
    soon.
so, after security check gets completed you will get your stamp,
    right?
yesterday i talked to my lawyer, and she said that there are some
very unpleasant inspectors there are at Milwaukee USCIS office, but she
said that there are four new ones and they are very nice (yet). so
    hopefully...
could tell us, what is your timeline?
    like when you got
married and when did you file?
and if you received EAD yet?
    thank you

interesting reading about your AOS interview experience, but I too am
curious to know what your timeline is. I have heard that the wait for
AOS interviews in WI can be a year or more.

    How unfortunate that you
got an officer who wasn't the least bit pleasant. We managed to get our
officer to talk about such off topic things as children and dogs. He
asked if either of us had children and I said "No I don't, but I have a
dog that is like a child. Does she count?" Which got him to talking
about his own dog and how much like children they can be. LOL

    Please
keep us updated about when you get your stamp. I certainly hope your
wait is minimal....but, unfortunately, I have heard of people at these
NGs that have waited a very long time for their stamp & green card after
the AOS interivew and a supposed approval.

    you know,
    there is a
couple who got married in October and they filed in November, went for
biometrics in December (it is in Milwaukee, and happening in 2003-2004)
and they got AOS interview letter on the begining of January, and they
are having their interview on the 12 of February!!! it's less than 3
    months of waiting.
It doesn't make any sense to me, who filed papers
    like a month earlier....

A friend of mine had her
fingerprints done 4 months ago. She has not received an interview date.

I myself applied for AOS in Oct 03, received NOA in Dec 03, went for
biometrics in late Jan. 2004. My case was transferred to Missouri
Service Center. And that seems to have delayed the processing already.

BTW, I will answer my own question. If you get to Milwaukee INS by
8:30, you won't have to wait very long at all. After 9, it will be a
longer wait. I saw at least a hundred people waiting at 10 am.
