Default Do I have any Legal Recource?

I am in sales for a medical device firm, employed since January 2002. In 2003 and 2004 I was ranked as a top performer. 2005 has been a different story. My numbers have declined as a reflection of my current turbulant environment. I am 34 weeks pregnant and taken on the role of caregiver for my husband who has been in and out of the hospital with cancer since october. Yesterday, a corporate teleconference announced our firm has aquired another and many sales people will be let go. I fear I will be one of them as my most recent performace ratings are low. I am 34 weeks pregant and don't have the ability to gain another position in the near term...what firm wants to hire a women who is getting ready for maternity leave? Second, if I am fired, I will no longer have the health benefits I planned on to cover the labor and delivery costs. Should the decision to let me go come about, do I have any legal recource?

Default Legal Recourse

No, not unless the reason you are let go is because of your pregnancy. That doesn't sound like the case.
