    Default Promisary note Virginia

Reached a settlement for a creditd card debt I owed. Law firm sent me a promisary note to sign and return. Seems clear cut. Is there anything I should be aware of?

Read it before you sign it. Maybe show it to a lawyer prior to signing it. Past that, they sent it to you for a reason. Something that helps them and likely hurts you. Not my area of expertise, but no one pays a lawyer to have you fill out a form unless your doing so gives them something they did not previously have.

Agree, I would definitely show it to an attorney before signing it.

(There are state laws that need to be considered when drafting a promissory note.)

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
