Laws regarding a new political party - Connecticut

I wanted to know whether one can organize or create a political party that is rooted from one in a European country. The type of political party I am referring to is one such as the Democratic party or a Social-Democratic party. I don't know if this is legal or what the legal ramifications or limits within the US are as far as political parties go so I was hoping someone would be able to kindly inform me on this. What are the laws regarding the organization of political parties in the US? Obviously I am not interested in breaking the law or any underground organizations like the Nazi party or what not so anything related to this would not be very helpful. Thank you.
