Went to a big box store today after work to pickup a outdoor dining table. When I arrived i found the perfect sport right next to the garden center in a legal parking spot about 100 ft for the entrance. Went in purchased the table and the guys tell me to pull up to the curb basically on the sidewalk with pillars. I didn't think twice about it since they were going to load me up. Pulled up and ended up helping load anyways because 2nd guy was gone. When I got ready to leave I didn't want to jump the curb risk breaking a glass table soI backed up a bit as I was backing I hit the pillar which was behind my SUV. Didn't even think I did much damage until I got home. Can the store be liable since the employees told me to park in the unsafe loading zone vs carting my table out to the lot which I expected? I don't want to go through my Ins company due to rates and deductible. i contacted management and they said they will not pay since I was driving the car. Please help.
